Buying guide

Finding the best face paint for hunting can be a daunting task, especially in a market overflowing with options. These days, anywhere you look, manufacturers will seek to confuse you with aggressive advertising and trick you into buying products you don’t really need.

When it comes to your hobby, something you really want to invest in, you need to choose the items that have the highest quality standards. Luckily for you, by reading our short buying guide, you can learn how to tell quality from mediocrity.

If you’re a hunting enthusiast, you’ll need a product that can get you through many situations. Considering the fact that you might want to experiment with different climates, different seasons and especially different hunting resorts, you need to be prepared and have a color palette that can allow you to blend in regardless of your chosen environments.

We recommend you to get a product that comes in multiple different shades. If it comes in the form of a color palette, even better. This way you will be able to create and wear different shades that perfectly complement the environment and allow you to approach your target without being noticed.

A good face paint is one that can last for an entire day and through many different weather conditions. Seek the product that can endure rain and that won’t come off when you rub your face. Also, it’s important for your skin to be able to normally sweat without ruining your cover in the process.

However, you don’t want an item that will never come off, so it’s important to check the recommendations for how to remove the paint from your face. There are a few options that will work just fine, including a combination of factors that taken individually won’t affect your cover or a special diluent that comes in the same package.

It’s very important for this type of product to be easy to pack and carry around. It shouldn’t take up too much space since your other hunting gear is already heavy enough and difficult to transport. A pocket-sized package will work just fine in most cases.

In order to get the most out of a face paint set, make sure that a small mirror is also included. This way, you will make sure that your camouflage is perfectly applied and you will be able to put it on right before the beginning of the hunt.

Carbo-Mask is all hype, used it and within an in the sweat had removed 90% of the paint. Personally, bei g easy to wipe off or remove at the end of the hunt is not a big deal to me. It is a bigger deal and more tragic to have face paint comw off when you are stalking mature 5-6 year old whitetails being within 20 yrds of them and your facepaint is gone. You only get one shot on a mature whitetail like that while stalking. I found even hard to remove paint easily comes off with makeup remover wipes. Oil based face paints are junk, I want serious clay based face paint that when you put it on, it is not coming off until you scrub your face! Hunters have become big sissies about it, I go into stores with face paint on, paint all over my clothes its not that big of a deal and nothing to be embarassed about.
